Original job description

Associate Optometrist – Changing lives through better sight

Vaughan, ON

The independent optometrist at Specsavers Vaughan Mills Mall is looking for an associate optometrist to join their busy clinic as locum for vacation coverage from Novemeber 7-9

The clinic benefits from strong patient demand and consistent foot traffic, offering the opportunity to see an average of 15+ patients per clinic day. This is an excellent opportunity for an Optometrist who values clinical autonomy, flexibility, and a relationship-led approach to patient care.

Everything you need to deliver exceptional care

You’ll work alongside passionate professionals who share a commitment to changing lives through better sight. Here, your focus stays where it belongs - in the exam room, delivering thoughtful, patient-centred care, not chasing sales targets.

You’ll have access to a full suite of advanced clinical technology, including:

Topcon Maestro2 OCT NIDEK Tonoref 3 NIDEK automated lensometer NIDEK intelligent refract RT-6100 S4OPTIK slit lamp Zeiss HFA3

A shared commitment to care - be part of a team dedicated to proactive eye health, with OCT available as a standard part of every eye exam

Integrated pre-test support - trained eyecare consultants welcome and guide your patients through pre-testing, with results sent directly to your exam room for your consultation

Clinical autonomy - practice in an independent clinic with the freedom to deliver care your way, supported by Specsavers’ technology and resources

Ongoing development - access dedicated optometry support consultants and annual continuing education opportunities for professional growth

Clinic ownership when you’re ready – develop your business acumen and ability to lead teams. Apply to Pathway, a business development program designed to support you in taking the next steps to become a clinic owner at your pace.

Compensation

Receive a daily minimum or a percentage billings, whichever amount is higher for each clinic day worked. The expected range for this role is:

Daily minimum of $500-$700 CAD

Percentage of billings of 70%

Final compensation will be determined based on experience and skillset by the independent clinic owner.

What makes a clinic within a Specsavers different?

At Specsavers, we believe quality eyecare starts with a simple idea: putting people first, always. For over 40 years, Specsavers has been committed to making quality eyecare and affordable eyewear accessible to everyone - because we believe no one should have to compromise on their eye health, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Today, we’re the world’s largest privately owned optical retailer and still a family-owned business. We’re a place where you can feel you belong, and be part of something that truly makes a difference.
