Original job description

My client seeks an experienced, technically adept Business Development Manager to drive revenue growth and expand their market footprint across custom and standard plastic profile extrusion. This role combines strategic business development and contract negotiation with deep knowledge of polymer processing and custom manufacturing timelines.

What you should expect:

Drive Revenue Growth: Identify and secure new high-volume business opportunities in target industries.
Technical Solution Selling: Collaborate closely with internal tool design, engineering, and manufacturing teams to translate client specifications into viable extrusion designs.
Contract & Pricing Negotiation: Formulate profitable price structures and manage multi-year master service agreements (MSAs) while balancing tight per-unit margins against high-volume scale.
Pipeline & Forecast Management: Maintain an accurate multi-million-dollar sales funnel and deliver monthly/quarterly revenue forecasts to the executive leadership team.
Market Intelligence: Monitor trends in plastic resins (such as PVC, ABS, Polycarbonate, PP, PE), competitive pricing, and regulatory shifts to adjust sales strategy dynamically.

What you should bring:

Industry Experience: Minimum 7–10 years of industrial B2B sales experience, with at least 5 years specifically dedicated to plastic extrusion or industrial custom plastic products.
Technical Acumen: Demonstrated capability to interpret technical engineering drawings (CAD blueprints) and understand the properties of various polymer resins and additives.
Track Record: Proven success in negotiating long-term contracts with high-volume accounts and consistently exceeding multi-million-dollar annual quotas.

Core Competencies & Personal Attributes

Value-Based Seller: Ability to sell on quality, precision engineering, and supply-chain reliability rather than competing solely on price.
Exceptional Communicator: Polished presentation and negotiation skills capable of engaging engineering leads up to C-level procurement executives.
Cross-Functional Collaborator: Adept at working across departments - bridging the gap between the client’s request and the production floor capabilities.
Self-Driven Leader: High operational autonomy with a results-oriented approach to opening cold markets.

Working Conditions & Travel

Travel Flexibility: Willingness and ability to travel for customer site visits, plant facility tours, and industry trade shows.
