Original job description

The Role

We are looking for a sharp, creative Content Marketer who brings equal parts high-level strategic thinking and hands-on execution to join our team. You know how to take complex concepts (payment and tech) and translate them into compelling stories that resonate with real people. You’ll own the lifecycle of our content - building on what’s already working, experimenting with fresh out-of-the-box concepts, and amplifying our brand across the entire prospect journey to drive real pipeline momentum. In a world saturated with generic AI-generated noise, this role is critical to ensuring HONK stands out. You will infuse our brand with authenticity and sharp human narrative, delivering high-impact content that connects with our audience.

What You’ll Do

Build & Execute Strategy: Translate HONK’s business goals into a high-impact content strategy that builds brand authority and guides prospects seamlessly through every stage of the funnel.
Master Storytelling: Craft narratives that stand out in the fintech and payment space. You’ll find the human angle in tech and deliver copy that engages our audiences.
Create, Distribute, & Amplify: Produce high-converting assets across multiple touchpoints - including deep-dive articles, case studies, product collateral, conference materials, campaigns, and thought leadership pieces.
Collaborate for LLM & Search Dominance: Partner closely with our external SEO/SEM agency to develop search-optimized content that ranks high on traditional search engines and establishes HONK as a primary authority in LLM-driven discovery.
Cross-Functional Partner: Work closely with product, sales, and design teams to pull out insights, uncover product stories, and ensure brand voice consistency everywhere.
Iterate & Scale: Continuously analyze content performance metrics. Uncover what clicks, double down on winning frameworks, knowing when to pivot, and continually pitch fresh, unconventional ideas. What You’ll Need to Succeed
Proven Experience: 5+ years of experience in content strategy and copywriting, ideally within B2B SaaS, fintech, or payment platforms. You’ve done this before and have a portfolio of work to prove it.
Blank-Canvas Mindset: You excel at turning ambiguity into action. You've built content engines from the ground up before and are comfortable setting the strategy, standards, and workflow when there’s no playbook in place.
Audience Nuance: An uncanny ability to break down distinct buyer personas, understand their pain points, and adjust tone and messaging accordingly.
Execution Power: You think strategically, but you love putting pen to paper. You can turn around polished, publication-ready copy efficiently.
Creative Grit: You dislike cliches and cookie-cutter jargon and buzzwords. You enjoy testing new angles, media, and formats that grab attention and stand out amongst the AI slop.
