Original job description

About Solen Software Group

Solen Software Group is an evergreen holding company that acquires and operates proven vertical-market software businesses. We compound value over decades, not quarters, and partner with founders to build enduring category leaders across HR tech, fleet telematics, asset management, e-health, document management, and other mission-critical verticals.

About the Role

The Director of Origination & Sourcing is a senior origination and people-leadership role responsible for building durable acquisition pipelines across Solen's priority verticals. You will lead a Toronto-based team of 5+ Corporate Development Associates while personally owning relationships with Solen's most strategic founder and advisor accounts.

This is a pure origination role, focused on sourcing and founder relationships. Deal execution is handled by a separate team.

What You'll Do

Own origination strategy, ICPs, and market coverage for assigned verticals, aligned with Solen's acquisition theses.

Design and run multi-touch outreach programs (email, phone, LinkedIn, events, in-person) and long-term founder nurture programs.

Manage, coach, and scale a team of 5+ Corporate Development Associates through weekly 1:1s, pipeline reviews, and call coaching.

Personally lead senior founder conversations on goals, succession, and partnership fit, positioning Solen as the preferred partner.

Own pipeline health, CRM rigor, and reporting; turn market insights into playbooks.

Partner cross-functionally on vertical priorities, qualification standards, and structured handoffs of qualified opportunities.

What We're Looking For

5+ years in corporate development, PE origination, B2B SaaS enterprise sales/new-logo, or sourcing roles.

Proven experience managing and developing teams in an outbound, metrics-driven environment.

Demonstrated ability to build senior-level founder relationships.

Systems-oriented operator who values process, scorecards, and continuous improvement.

High integrity, low ego, strong executive presence; energized by building.

Experience at serial acquirers of vertical-market software or software consolidators strongly preferred.

What We Offer

The opportunity to build and lead a scaled origination function within an evergreen software compounder.

High ownership and meaningful influence on Solen's long-term growth.

Competitive compensation and benefits.

How We Operate

Ownership Mindset · Benchmark to Best · Openly Self-Critical · Disagree & Commit · Figureitoutiveness · Mutual Elevation · Learn-it-alls · Pioneering · Will to Win · Dialectical · Frugality · Candor · Kaizen
