Do you get energized by finding efficient growth in places most brands overlook, and think about paid acquisition as an orchestrated portfolio rather than a collection of siloed platforms? If so, you might be our next Director of Growth Marketing!
About Pok Pok
Pok Pok is on a mission to raise the next generation of creative thinkers.
We're the team behind the Apple Design Award–winning Montessori-inspired app, Pok Pok, and were named one of TIME's 100 Most Influential Companies of 2025. Our award-winning digital toys and videos empower children to think outside the box, dream big, and explore their creativity in a mindful way. We believe screen time can be thoughtful, educational, and just as imaginative as the toys we grew up playing with on the floors of our living rooms.
Pok Pok is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We encourage people of all races, religions, genders, abilities and sexual orientations to apply. We want the products we develop to reflect the diversity of the world we live in, and it starts with our own team.
About the Role
Pok Pok is looking for a Director of Growth Marketing to lead and diversify our paid media acquisition engine.
We've built a strong, efficient acquisition motion, and now we want to broaden it. Your mission will be to build a multi-channel acquisition portfolio across Meta, TikTok, Google, Reddit, Apple Search Ads, programmatic, and more.
You’ll have high autonomy over where the next dollar goes, while working within Pok Pok’s imagination-first approach: no gamification, no dark patterns, no addictive loops, and no fear-mongering ads.
Reporting to the VP of Growth and Marketing, you’ll own channel strategy, budget allocation, testing, and execution. You’ll be hands-on when needed, but your real job is orchestrating the system: understanding how channels scale and interact, where incremental growth lives, and how creative and media work together.
You’ll scale UA for the app today and new products over time. The right person is equally comfortable with unit economics, creative strategy, and big goals with lots of autonomy. This is a hybrid role based downtown Toronto with 2-3 days of in-office presence required.
What You’ll Do
- Shape the performance media strategy, including channel mix, budget allocation, new experiments, and the roadmap for diversifying spend across a broader portfolio.
- Discover, stand up, and scale winning channels, each with a practical thesis: what role it plays, how we’ll measure it, and what "working" looks like.
- Balance efficiency across the portfolio, pairing near-term CAC/ROAS discipline with long tail bets that impact anything from top of funnel to LTV.
- Lead, mentor and grow the performance team. You set priorities, raise the bar, and build the operating cadence that keeps the team learning and moving with purpose.
- Ensure insights, creative strategy, and media strategy are intertwined, not siloed
- Contribute to our measurement foundation as a key stakeholder in attribution, incrementality, and reporting.
- Stay close to platform changes, emerging channels, and new tooling (including AI), and translate them into an edge before they're obvious.
You’ll Be Accountable For
- Paid acquisition efficiency and volume against agreed targets.
- The diversification of spend into a broader, more resilient channel mix, on a credible timeline.
- The performance, development, and output of the UA, creative, and design team.
- A disciplined, well-documented testing and learning system across channels.
- Clear, trusted reporting on where the money goes and what it returns.
Who You Are
- 8+ years in performance/growth marketing, including experience owning multi-channel paid acquisition at meaningful scale.
- A track record of building or scaling channel mix, ideally several of Meta, TikTok, Google/YouTube/UAC, Reddit, Apple Search Ads, and programmatic.
- Strong command of the economics: CAC, LTV, ROAS, payback, incrementality, and the judgment to act on them.
- Experience leading and developing a team, and a genuine interest in making the people around you better at what they do.
- The ability to operate independently and take ownership - you set the strategy and drive it forward with the VP's support and mentorship.
- Fluency in how creative strategy drives performance, and the instinct to treat media and creative as a single system.
- Comfort adopting AI tools and new technologies to move faster and sharper.
- A bias for action: you run disciplined tests, learn from imperfect data, and keep the machine moving.
- A deep respect for brand and a keen eye to ensure consistency between paid and organic initiatives.
Bonus Points if You Have:
- Experience marketing a mobile app or subscription product.
- Background in a product category serving parents, families or kids.
- Hands-on fluency in measurement/attribution tooling (MMPs, incrementality testing).
- Experience managing agency or freelance relationships alongside an in-house team.
