Part-time | Reports to the Board of Directors
Location. Candidates based in Canada are preferred. Applications are welcome from candidates outside Canada.
Languages. Strong written and spoken English is required. Fluency in Lithuanian is an asset, as is the ability to read or write it.
The Chamber helps Canadian and Lithuanian businesses enter each other’s markets by connecting them with potential customers, distributors and local advisors. The Executive Director leads this work, builds membership and sponsorship, and oversees the Chamber’s programs and daily operations.
The President is the director’s primary Board contact. Together with the Board, the director sets priorities that can be delivered within the available hours and budget, drawing on volunteers and designated marketing, technical and financial support.
Key responsibilities
Business development and partnerships. Represent the Chamber in both markets and expand its network across Canada. Maintain regular contact with the Lithuanian Embassy, Innovation Agency Lithuania and other business and government partners. Learn what members are trying to achieve, arrange relevant introductions and follow up with both parties to identify next steps.
Membership and sponsorship. Recruit and retain members through direct outreach and regular contact. Oversee onboarding, renewals and access to benefits, working with support staff to resolve account or payment issues. Secure sponsorships and follow each agreement through to delivery of the promised benefits.
Programs and communications. Organize webinars, networking events and trade delegations with speakers, partners and volunteers. Coordinate the Chamber’s agreed responsibilities within the North American Lithuanian Business Forum organizing team. Work with marketing support on the member newsletter, event updates and business opportunities. Use participant feedback to shape future programs.
Planning and operations. Prepare an annual work plan and budget with the Board and financial lead. Monitor revenue and spending, flag issues that need a decision and report progress to the Board. Keep shared records of contacts, commitments and next steps so contributors know who is responsible for follow-up.
Qualifications
Candidates should have a record of building relationships that produced business opportunities, partnerships or revenue, and experience delivering events or projects with multiple contributors. The role requires independent follow-through, confidence representing the Chamber, and familiarity with budgets and contact management tools.
Knowledge of Canadian and Lithuanian business environments is strongly preferred. Experience with a board, chamber or membership association is an asset. Relevant education or equivalent practical experience is welcome.
Availability for scheduled events and meetings across Canadian and Lithuanian time zones is required. Weekly hours, compensation and travel expectations are to be confirmed.
