Shape the future of healthcare accountability in Ontario
Ontario's health system is evolving to meet growing patient needs and expectations. The Ministry of Health is seeking a strategic, courageous, highly analytical, and outcomes-focused executive to lead the Physician and Provider Services Division (PPSD), responsible for physician and provider relations, funding and service delivery models, primary care modernization, and strategic negotiations with key health sector partners.
This role presents a unique opportunity to drive an ambitious, multi-year accountability and transformation agenda that advances system performance, fiscal sustainability, and value for Ontarians. The successful candidate will bring a deep understanding of the physician sector, exceptional analytical capability, and a proven track record of translating strategy into action and delivering results in complex, high-stakes environments.
Reporting to the Associate Deputy Minister, the Assistant Deputy Minister will provide executive leadership for the PPSD which leads the Ministry's engagement with physician and provider representatives, including the Ontario Medical Association (OMA), and stakeholders across primary care, midwifery, optometry, dental services, and other provider sectors. PPSD delivers its mandate through four branches: the Physician Relations and Contract Oversight Branch, Primary Health Care Branch, Provider Negotiations Management Branch, and Provider Services Branch.
