The Business Development Executive will be based in Brampton, Ontario and will report to the President. This role is a true hunter seat: outbound origination of new OEM programs and new dealer accounts across both markets. Growth will extend beyond the core material handling base into emerging demand in FOPS/ROPS, EV transition, cold storage, mining, and defense. The ideal candidate will be someone who has personally de-risked a concentrated customer base, opened a second major account when the business depended on one, and can run OEM qualification cycles and dealer transactional sales at the same time.
Responsibilities
- Own the full sales pipeline from outbound origination through quote to close, across US and Canada
- Build new OEM relationships and open new dealer accounts through cold prospecting and direct outreach
- Develop direct OEM relationships across cold storage, extreme environment, and standard material handling segments
- Expand dealer relationships from transactional order-taking into proactively sold accounts
- Pursue emerging demand in EV transition, cold storage, mining, and defense as net-new revenue verticals
- Maintain full pipeline visibility in HubSpot with accurate stage, value, and close-date discipline, and report pipeline health weekly
- Coordinate with Engineering, Quality, and Plant Operations on RFQ response, capacity, and delivery commitments for multi-phase OEM RFQs
Experience, Qualifications & Attributes
- 8-10 years B2B industrial sales experience in material handling, OEMs, or equipment dealers
- A verifiable, cold-origination track record; new accounts and new territory built
- Comfortable owning a full revenue number with direct reporting exposure to executive leadership
- A strong hunter with direct OEM and dealer outreach
- Experience with OEM component/sub-assembly supplier sales into OEM procurement and engineering teams

- Cold storage / cold chain equipment or logistics sales; fluency with how cold storage, and 3PL/food-distribution buyers evaluate equipment
- Off-highway equipment cabs, ROPS/FOPS, or attachment sales
- Material handling equipment dealer-channel sales. Experience on the dealer side (parts, fleet, service relationships)
- Experience closing a formal OEM supply agreement, has run long OEM qualification cycles (6-18 months) and short transactional dealer sales (weeks)
- Technical fluency with engineered, custom, or configured product; comfortable in fitment, spec, and certification conversations (UL, ISO) with OEM engineering counterparts
- OEM contract and supply-agreement negotiation, including vendor portal qualification processes
- Dealer channel program design: incentive structures, tiered dealer status, win-back playbooks
- CRM pipeline discipline (HubSpot or equivalent) across a dual-motion pipeline; long OEM cycles and short dealer transactions
- Cross-border US and Canada commercial fluency
- Comfortable being the face of a customer-concentration turnaround
- An entrepreneurial channel-builder instinct
