POSITION: Business Development Manager, Industrial Solutions
LOCATION: GTA/Ontario (fully field based)
Do you know how to get in front of facility managers, warehouse operators, and industrial decision-makers - and turn cold prospects into substantial new business?
We’re recruiting on behalf of a growing industrial and commercial services business with ambitious expansion plans in Ontario and they are on the hunt for a Business Development Manager to work alongside the owner to continue to build the pipeline across the GTA. This is a hands-on, new-business-focused opportunity for someone who enjoys prospecting, knocking on doors, building a territory, and closing high-value projects. Specializing in industrial floor coatings, epoxy flooring, concrete polishing, and related surface protection services, the company helps businesses maintain, upgrade, and optimize their facilities.
With an established reputation, a strong technical foundation, and ambitious growth plans, this is an opportunity for a commercially minded salesperson to take ownership of market development and make a direct impact on the company's next stage of growth.
If you are a proactive business developer with proven experience selling into warehouses and industrial facilities who enjoys building a territory, winning new accounts, and turning untapped market potential into revenue, we would welcome a conversation!
The Opportunity
You will take a proactive approach to identifying target accounts, getting in front of decision-makers, and converting new prospects into profitable projects.
Warehouses, distribution centres, logistics operations, manufacturing plants, and other large commercial and industrial facilities will be key targets. You will be expected to get out into the market, pick up the phone, knock on doors, and develop relationships that lead to immediate project opportunities and long-term recurring business. Working closely with the owner, you will have direct access to technical expertise, quoting support, and the resources needed to turn opportunities into wins. The successful candidate will have considerable autonomy to develop their own sales strategy, manage their pipeline, and build a repeatable approach to growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive net-new business: Proactively identify, pursue, and secure new customers across Ontario, with a strong focus on warehouses, distribution centres, logistics facilities, and industrial properties.
- Own the hunt: Conduct cold calls, door-to-door prospecting, site visits, direct outreach, and targeted account development to build a consistent pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Engage decision-makers: Build relationships with facility managers, operations leaders, property managers, plant managers, maintenance teams, and other stakeholders responsible for facility maintenance and capital projects.
- Develop target accounts: Research and map prospective customers, identify upcoming projects and maintenance requirements, and create a structured plan to penetrate high-value accounts.
- Sell solutions, not just services: Understand customer needs and position industrial flooring, epoxy coatings, concrete polishing, and related services as solutions to operational, maintenance, and facility improvement challenges.
- Manage the full sales cycle: Lead initial outreach, site assessments, customer consultations, quoting coordination, proposal follow-up, negotiation, and closing.
- Move quickly: Maintain momentum from initial contact through quotation and follow-up, recognizing that responsiveness and speed are critical to winning business.
- Build long-term revenue: Develop repeat business through ongoing maintenance needs, additional projects, referrals, and expansion within existing accounts.
- Own your results: Establish clear sales targets, maintain an accurate pipeline, track activity and conversion, and continuously refine your approach to maximize revenue.
- Collaborate with leadership: Work directly with the owner to leverage technical knowledge, develop pricing strategies, and capitalize on emerging opportunities in the industrial and commercial markets.
What We're Looking For
- A proven hunter with a track record of generating net-new business through proactive outbound sales and direct prospecting.
- Demonstrated success selling B2B services, industrial solutions, facility services, construction-related services, or other tangible solutions to commercial and industrial customers.
- Experience developing relationships with warehouses, distribution centres, manufacturing facilities, logistics operations, or similar industrial environments is strongly preferred.
- Comfortable picking up the phone, conducting cold outreach, visiting facilities in person, and finding ways to reach decision-makers who are not already engaging with the business.
- A self-starter who can independently develop a territory, prioritize opportunities, and execute a disciplined business development strategy.
- Strong consultative selling, negotiation, follow-up, and closing skills.
- Commercial acumen, including the ability to identify project opportunities, understand customer requirements, and coordinate accurate and competitive quotations.
- A results-oriented mindset, with the motivation to build a substantial pipeline and convert it into measurable revenue growth.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the credibility to engage customers at both the operational and senior management levels.
- A valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout Ontario for prospecting, customer meetings, and site visits.
Why Consider This Opportunity?
