On behalf of our client, a leading investment firm, we have been engaged to hire a Director, Portfolio Growth and Investments for their organisation. As a long-term owner with permanent capital, they back the right opportunities at the right time, without fund cycles or pressure to exit.
This role is about being close to the businesses and driving their growth. Your primary focus will be a mandate in one of two portfolio companies that together generate over $900M in annual revenue, working side by side with management to strengthen, improve, and grow the business, with real influence over strategy, performance, and outcomes. From day one, you will also be involved in the firm’s other businesses and in deploying discretionary capital into future deals. As priorities shift, your focus will shift with them, and you will be expected to meet each one as it comes.
This is an opportunity to join a team in growth mode, have a real impact, and be rewarded and grow alongside the results you help deliver.
The ideal candidate will have many of the following:
- 5-10 years of experience at another investment firm, working with portfolio companies and alongside their executive teams.
- You’re energised by rolling up your sleeves with operators to make a business better, not just by evaluating it from the outside.
- You go deep on the numbers, then go even deeper.
- Hands-on by nature; you still get into the modelling and have true curiosity about it.
- Someone who can dig deep on opportunities as well as the risks behind them.
- Someone who examines problems from various angles and approaches them with original thinking.
