Responsibilities
Assess and prepare patients physically and psychologically before surgery, and provide postoperative assessment, discharge support, and education on recovery and pain management. Assist with patient mobilization and work collaboratively with registered nurses and other care team members while supporting person-centred care.
Requirements
Requires current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario, an RPN diploma, current BCLS certification, and at least 1–2 years of recent surgical experience. Candidates must also have completed physical assessment and medication administration courses, hold venipuncture and IV certification, and demonstrate strong clinical assessment, communication, organization, and computer skills.
