Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Senior Product Designer (UI/UX) - Investments /Wealth to create accessible, client-focused experiences for native iOS and Android applications. You will lead product design initiatives from discovery and concept development through detailed interaction design, visual design, implementation, and quality assurance. Pay rate range(CAD): $76.70/hr – $92.04/hr
Responsibilities
- Design intuitive, accessible, and client-focused mobile experiences across iOS and Android.
- Translate product goals and user needs into high-level concepts, detailed interface designs, prototypes, and interaction models.
- Lead feature design from discovery and concept development through implementation and quality assurance.
- Collaborate with product managers, researchers, content designers, developers, and business partners in an agile environment.
- Ensure designs are technically feasible and aligned with native platform capabilities, interaction patterns, and guidelines.
- Create detailed specifications, user flows, storyboards, and design documentation to support delivery.
- Apply and contribute to mobile design systems, component libraries, theming frameworks, and reusable patterns.
- Publish and maintain Figma libraries, components, patterns, and supporting documentation.
- Design for accessibility and support compliance with WCAG standards and evolving platform requirements.
- Communicate design concepts clearly to diverse audiences and incorporate feedback constructively.
- Monitor emerging mobile capabilities, accessibility practices, and industry trends to help advance the overall user experience.
Desired Skill-Set
- Three to five years of experience in product design, UX design, and UI design, with strong native mobile expertise across iOS and Android.
- Comprehensive understanding of interaction design, user interface design, responsive web design, and mobile application design.
- Advanced proficiency with Figma, including wireframing, prototyping, component usage, design documentation, and library maintenance.
- Experience working with established design systems, component libraries, and theming frameworks.
- Ability to independently manage feature design from discovery and concepting through implementation and quality assurance.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating user-centred design, high-fidelity prototypes, user flows, and storyboards.
- Strong understanding of native iOS and Android design patterns, interaction models, and platform-specific guidelines.
- Ability to create simple, elegant experiences through strategic thinking and polished visual design.
- Strong attention to detail when designing states, behaviours, transitions, and edge-case experiences.
- Demonstrated conceptual thinking and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to communicate ideas effectively to diverse audiences and integrate feedback constructively.
- General understanding of agile methodologies and experience working in an agile process.
- General understanding of HTML and CSS, including the ability to produce web-ready assets and designs.
- Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe After Effects for animation and Adobe Illustrator.
- Five years of banking and investing knowledge.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with product, technology, and business partners.
