Work arrangement: Onsite, 5 days a week

About the Opportunity:
Gigafest is seeking an experienced Senior Software Developer to lead the development of a modern public-facing portal for a mission-critical Registration and Permit system. You'll build scalable, accessible web applications using cutting-edge technologies while collaborating with talented teams to deliver high-impact solutions. This is an exciting opportunity for a full-stack React engineer who loves building robust, user-centered digital experiences at scale.
You'll work on a modern tech stack (NextJS, TypeScript, React) integrated with enterprise systems (MS Dynamics CRM, MuleSoft), ensuring accessibility standards and architectural excellence throughout. This project combines technical challenge, accessibility-first design, and the satisfaction of serving millions of users through government services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop a public-facing portal for Registration and Permit workflows using NextJS, TypeScript, and React
- Integrate the portal with back-office systems developed in MS Dynamics CRM via MuleSoft middleware
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the project meets accessibility standards such as WCAG and AODA
- Design and implement responsive web applications with modern architecture principles
- Apply core architecture principles to enhance product extensibility and maintainability
- Mentor junior developers and establish best practices for code quality and scalability
- Optimize performance and user experience across multiple browsers and devices
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to continuous improvement of development processes
Must Haves:
- 5+ years of professional experience with React, Javascript, and Typescript
- Proven expertise with HTML 5.0, CSS, and responsive web application development
- Proficiency in Node, NPM, RXJS, Bootstrap, and jQuery
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Git and modern version control workflows
- Proven experience with WCAG and AODA accessibility standards
- Strong full-stack development capabilities and architectural thinking
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Toronto
Nice to Have:
- Experience with large-scale multi-client web applications
- Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics CRM and MuleSoft integration
- Knowledge of microservice architecture and design patterns
- Experience with NextJS and VueJS frameworks
- Background in government or regulated industry projects
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Familiarity with testing frameworks and quality assurance practices
