Are you ready to modernize Angular applications and shape the future of front-end architecture? Apply Now!
Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for a Sr. Azure DevOps Engineer-Banking to modernize front-end architecture across a portfolio of Angular applications. You will lead the extraction and decoupling of shared layout, navigation, and theming components from a third-party template, transforming them into an internally owned, versioned component library. This hands-on opportunity combines design-system engineering, large-scale migration planning, Angular upgrades, and cross-team collaboration, while providing the opportunity to influence technology decisions and support the modernization of enterprise applications.
Responsibilities
- Audit the use of shared templates, layouts, widgets, partials, and legacy scripting across multiple Angular applications.
- Design and build an internally owned Angular component library containing reusable navigation, layout, and theming capabilities.
- Establish a scalable library structure using an Angular workspace, secondary entry points, or an npm-packaged solution.
- Define and execute a controlled migration path away from direct third-party template dependencies while preserving existing user experience and visual consistency.
- Evaluate and support potential transitions from Bootstrap to Tailwind CSS.
- Replace legacy jQuery and direct DOM-manipulation patterns with maintainable Angular components and directives.
- Develop a strategy to remove template-related blockers to future Angular version upgrades.
- Coordinate phased, low-disruption adoption of the shared library across multiple application teams.
- Establish tooling for component documentation, visual regression testing, package versioning, and release management.
- Partner with design stakeholders to maintain a consistent, themeable experience across applications, including light, dark, and branded themes.
- Create migration guides and provide technical support to teams adopting the shared library.
- Apply incremental migration techniques, such as feature flags and the strangler pattern, to reduce delivery risk.
- Contribute to a reusable, independently versioned application shell supporting multiple applications.
- Promote knowledge sharing and best practices across development teams.
Desired Skill-Set
- At least five years of professional Angular development experience.
- Demonstrated experience completing Angular upgrades and migrations, including the use of Angular Update Guide practices.
- Strong knowledge of Bootstrap 5 and practical experience with Tailwind CSS.
- Experience migrating user interfaces between CSS frameworks.
- Proven experience reducing production dependency on third-party administration templates or themes.
- Strong understanding of replacing jQuery and legacy DOM-manipulation patterns with component-driven, reactive Angular approaches.
- Experience versioning and distributing internal packages through a private registry, such as npm, Azure Artifacts, or GitHub Packages.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions for publishing and consuming shared packages across multiple repositories.
- Experience planning and executing incremental or parallel migrations across multiple live applications.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- A dependable work ethic, patience, and a collaborative approach to problem-solving.
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with Metronic, including Bootstrap or Tailwind editions.
- Experience building internal design systems or component libraries adopted by multiple product teams.
- Experience with Kendo UI Angular components.
- Background working in enterprise or regulated financial-services environments.
- Exposure to Azure AD or MSAL-based authentication flows in Angular applications.
- Experience establishing repeatable Angular upgrade paths that are not blocked by template dependencies.
- Experience reducing reliance on third-party release cycles through internally managed component libraries.
