Our client is a leading organization in the mining and metals industry to recruit a Technical Marketing Specialist for their team in Toronto, Ontario.
Our client is seeking a technically strong and commercially minded professional who can connect product performance, engineering and processing capabilities, market intelligence, and customer requirements to support commercial growth and product strategy.
Your New Role
As a Technical Marketing Specialist, you will work closely with technical, operational, commercial, and customer-facing teams to evaluate product performance, market opportunities, and commercial outcomes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Analyzing product specifications, quality performance, customer requirements, and market conditions.
- Conducting technical-commercial evaluations of metals products and customer applications.
- Developing value-in-use analyses, financial models, business cases, and scenario assessments.
- Supporting customer product qualifications, technical discussions, and performance reviews.
- Evaluating technical feasibility, regulatory requirements, operational implications, and commercial opportunities.
- Supporting market intelligence, competitive analysis, and product strategy.
- Collaborating with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Sustainability, Finance, Supply Chain, and Commercial teams.
- Preparing reports, presentations, dashboards, and recommendations for senior stakeholders.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- 5–10 years of relevant experience within technical, engineering, operational, product, commercial, or customer-facing roles.
- Experience within mining, metals, mineral processing, refining, manufacturing, or industrial environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mineral Processing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Strong understanding of product specifications, quality, process performance, and customer requirements.
- Experience with financial modelling, value-in-use analysis, business cases, and scenario planning.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- P.Eng., postgraduate business qualifications, or market intelligence experience would be considered an asset.
