Employment Type:
Fixed Term (Fixed Term)
Job Description:
UI/UX Design & Frontend Engineer Intern
Our internal teams spend all day configuring and onboarding partners through complex tools built without dedicated design, and we need someone who wants to untangle those dense interfaces and actually ship the production code to fix them.
What You'll Be Doing
You will take internal tools from rough problem statements and user interviews directly into production-ready React code, transforming dense forms and tables into clear, intuitive workflows. Working alongside a mentor in Applied AI Engineering, you will own the full cycle by researching friction points with teammates, auditing screens for accessibility, and shipping reusable components that other teams will adopt. AI-assisted design and prototyping tools handle the heavy lifting during early exploration, so you can spend your time validating interactions with users and refining edge cases. Your work will ship to live users throughout your term, giving you direct ownership over interfaces that power partner operations every day.
The Stack
React · Python · TypeScript · JavaScript · HTML · CSS
What You Bring
- You are currently enrolled in an accredited co-op program in design, computer science, software engineering, or human-computer interaction, with a work term available.
- You think deeply about layout hierarchy, typography, and interaction states, backed by a portfolio of coursework or personal projects that explains the problem, the options considered, and why you chose a specific direction.
- You are comfortable diving into an unfamiliar codebase to write clean React, HTML, and CSS, turning design ideas into responsive, accessible interfaces that hold up under real use.
- You talk comfortably with teammates using your tools to test assumptions through lightweight research, and you actively welcome critique to push your work forward.
- When it comes to AI, you already integrate generative tools into your design or development workflow to prototype faster, with a clear sense of where automated output helps and where human judgment must take over.
