An established commercial construction organization is seeking a Vice President of Construction to oversee its project portfolio, strengthen operational performance and support long-term growth.
This is a strategic leadership position focused on building capable teams, improving project delivery and driving results, rather than managing every project's day-to-day challenges.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $200,000–$225,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.
- Performance-based incentive: Eligibility for additional compensation linked to performance objectives, including portfolio profitability, project delivery, operational efficiency and leadership development.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead construction operations across multiple commercial projects, ensuring profitability, quality and timely delivery.
- Set clear performance expectations for project managers, site leaders and construction teams.
- Oversee project budgets, forecasting, schedules, contracts and risk management.
- Drive financial performance through effective cost control, accurate reporting and proactive decision-making.
- Develop strong construction leaders through coaching, accountability and succession planning.
- Establish consistent operational processes, project controls and reporting standards.
- Champion workplace safety, construction quality and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain key client relationships and provide executive support on significant project matters.
- Collaborate with estimating, finance and business development to assess new opportunities and resource requirements.
- Support strategic planning, workforce development and the continued growth of the business.
What We're Looking For
- Significant senior leadership experience in commercial construction or general contracting.
- Experience in ICI along with commercial construction general contracting
- Proven success overseeing multiple construction projects and managing portfolio-level financial performance.
- Strong knowledge of construction operations, budgeting, forecasting, contracts, scheduling and risk management.
- Experience leading senior project managers, site teams and multidisciplinary construction operations.
- A track record of developing leaders, improving operational efficiency and delivering profitable projects.
- Strong commercial judgment, communication and client relationship skills.
- Knowledge of construction safety regulations and industry standards.
- Relevant postsecondary qualifications in construction management, engineering, architecture, business or equivalent senior-level experience.
Experience working within a structured business operating system would be an advantage.
