Who can use the depot and what to check
The depot accepts eligible waste generated in York Region and requires proof of residency. Its address is 130 McCleary Court, Vaughan. The source has conflicting postal codes between its heading and embedded map, so this guide uses the street address. Check the current operating-hours display before travelling; the captured page did not expose daily opening times. It is closed on civic and statutory holidays.
The onsite traffic camera updates every three minutes. Vehicles are weighed to measure disposal loads only, not for unrelated weighing requests. Fees and hours can change without notice.
Hazardous waste and electronics limits
Residential hazardous waste is accepted at no cost within the published limit of 60 litres and 20 compact fluorescent tubes per day. Keep it in original, sealed, clearly marked containers. Containers, including fuel cans, are not returned. Industrial, commercial and institutional hazardous waste is not accepted.
For electronics, erase personal information, remove packaging and batteries and keep the equipment assembled. Disassembled electronics are not accepted. The limit is 50 kilograms per household per day. Use the waste lookup tool if an item’s correct stream is unclear.
Paid loads, free materials and exclusions
Concrete, drywall, garbage, untreated wood and yard waste are chargeable. Loads up to 100 kilograms cost $11; above 100 kilograms the rate is $180 per tonne. Mixed loads containing paid and free materials can be charged on the whole load. Separate them and unload paid materials first, then circle through for free recycling, or make separate visits.
Free streams include bicycles, blue-box materials, donation textiles including worn or torn fabric, cooking oil subject to limits, qualifying electronics/HHW, scrap metal, metal appliances, shredded paper and up to ten tires daily. Refrigerated appliances without a CFC-removal sticker cost $20 each; the table lists a $10 small-business category with a sticker. Green-bin organics, industrial waste, PCBs, ammunition, explosives, radioactive waste, asbestos, soil and clean fill are excluded.
